Being visible on the net radar

February 19th, 2008

The Internet world is like a spider’s web, except it is much bigger and spread all over the world. You could be sitting in Fiji islands and surfing through your facebook.com and trying to find work through linkedin.com, when you will see a mail from a company in USA about a job opening. How did that happen? All thanks to the search engines and their search engine visibility feature. The company must have been looking for people with your qualifications, and since you are on linkedin.com, your name would have popped up and they found you. Isn’t that just wonderful? You dint have to lift a finger, make a phone call or send out your resume to the companies.

That is how convenient these engines have made our lives. We don’t need to worry about job portals anymore, all we need is a membership with high visibility, like www.feedblitz.com/ or maybe a blog at Digg.com. What they do is throw up your name whenever someone keys in a word present in your profile, giving the person access to the database and maximum search engine visibility. It works out beneficial for you and the site, both of you have been noticed.
